Vindhya Undurti is currently Professor of Psychology, and Chairperson, School of Gender Studies in Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad. Her research concerns are located in the interface of psychology and feminism and include mental health of women; gender-based violence; the psychological dynamics of women’s political activism; sex trafficking of women and girls; and feminist counselling. Some of her recent research projects are the World Bank commissioned project Responding to Gender-based violence: The Story of Social Action Committees in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, 2015 [co-researcher] and the TISS-London School of Economics sponsored project Marriage or Trafficking? The Phenomenon of ‘Sheikh Marriages’ in Hyderabad, 2016 [principal researcher].
